PERSPECTIVES FROM DAVID'S 7 SECRETS
Chapter Two, "Sit at God's Round Table" p. 31
IN GOD WE TRUST
Yesterday, I went to the place where the Titanic was built here
in Ireland. “Unsinkable”, is what they promoted, and of course, it was totally
believable. Yet, it sank anyway.

David said, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but
we trust in the Name of the Lord our God” Ps. 20:7. Horses and chariots
are not exactly a ship like the Titanic or a supersonic jet fighter, but if
David were alive today, ships and jets would have found their way into that
Psalm.
Given the world we live in today, there is nothing tangible we
can really put our total trust in. This is a terrible reality. But we
have the same Lord that David did and He is just as safe to put our trust in as
He was in David's time. David put it into practical words in Psalm 56:3-4,
"When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose Word I praise,
in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?"
We can't really put our trust in finances or even our political
system, but it is a comfort to know we can trust our Lord Jesus Christ.
He really is our hope. He tells us in John 14:1, "Do not let your
hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me."
David learned trust through hard and difficult situations.
You and I have a simple choice right now while things are good. We can
develop trust as a daily pattern in our lives, so...
